Happy Feature Friday! It's a new month and a new release and we have three new guest designers to introduce you to. A big Concord & 9th welcome to Karen Downs, Latisha Yoast, and Laurie Willison! We're so excited to see what these lovely ladies have in store for us throughout the month! Today they've used the Painted Petals Turnabout™ Toolkit to create their projects. You can see what they've made and learn a little bit about each designer below!
My name is Karen and I live in Colorado with my husband of 27 years. I have two sons (23 and 19) and a daughter (21). I have been paper crafting in some form or another since I was a little girl and now making cards is my biggest passion and my therapy for a stressful “day job”. I am absolutely thrilled to be a guest designer for Concord & 9th and hope my cards give you inspiration!!
As a native Californian, I spent my formative years in Mendocino and Sonoma counties. This is where I developed my love for fresh ingredients, wine, finding the beauty in the mundane.
Since 1999, my husband Jess has served in the US Navy. Because of his profession, and traversing this amazing country, we have been able to live in some incredible places. Such as Charleston, SC, Saratoga Springs, NY, San Diego, CA, Groton, CT, Pensacola, FL and now Jacksonville, FL.
Now that both of my children are in college, it is fun to explore hobbies that I didn't have time for. But the one constant in my adult life has been the ability to have a hobby/job that allows me to be creative and be in this industry. I have worked for paper companies, magazines, tool manufacturers, and stamp companies. There isn't a hobby craft that doesn't intrigue me. My main squeeze will forever be stamping. There is just something magical about creating with stamps and ink.
I am so excited to be guest designing for Concord & 9th this month! If I had to describe my card style it would be balanced. I love a well balanced card.
Hi, it's Laurie Willison here! I am a wife and mom to 2 littles who aren't so little anymore. I started this papercrafting journey when my oldest was 2 and she is16 now! I have been honored over the years these last 14 to work for some amazing companies and be a part of some amazing teams! My favorite part of this cardmaking community is the people. I have made some lifelong friends and they are definitely the greatest take away! My style is clean and simple...I do love white space! I am thrilled to be a guest for Concord and 9th as they are one of my favorites. Their amazing designs are so fun to play with and make the best quick and simple cards! Thank you so much for having me!
