Happy Little Trees

I wonder how Bob Ross would feel about these happy little trees. They are not painted, however, they are still happy with their tapered branches holding up the teeny, tiny sequin strands and standing in the dip-dyed pots! Or should I say they make me happy? I think they almost look real. In fact, my daughter reached out and touched one to see what it was made from.

As I sat here die cutting and assembling these happy little trees, I wondered what could make me happier. It came to me quickly...crafting with others. Pandora & Netflix are nice company, however, nothing beats crafting with family & friends and chatting the night away.

Here is what I suggest each guest brings:
1) Their own Take A Bough Die (it will be faster than waiting your turn to die cut)
2) Gold or Silver 3mm Sequin Strands
2) Card stock - each tree takes less than one 12x12 sheet!
3) Big Shot (or die cutting machine of their choice)
4) Adhesive

What you supply as the host:
1) Table/Chairs
2) Bamboo Skewers & brown ink pad (I used Ranger Walnut Stain Distress mini pad)
3) Terra Cotta pots (these are really cheap at the big box stores)
4) Black spray paint
5) Versamark Pad & Gold Embossing powder*
6) Treats & lots of Diet Coke!

*I spray painted the terra cotta pots with one coat of chalkboard paint. When dry, roll the Versamark ink pad around the bottom 1/3 of the pot, then sprinkle with gold embossing powder. Heat and set aside to cool. EASY PEASY!

Greg and I have been anticipating the release of the Take a Bough Die for weeks now. We knew how much we liked it, and hoped the feeling would be the same with crafters like yourself! Well, the response has been fabulous! We are so excited that LOTS of you have bought it! Be sure to check out inspiring projects using this die here and watch the video to see what other projects can come from this 8 piece die set!

Don't forget to tag Concord & 9th when you create your projects! We cannot wait to see what YOU come up with!

Enjoy crafting your happy little trees!

Guest Designer: Karolyn Loncon

We'd like you all to say hello to Karolyn Loncon!  We found her via social media, loved her card creations and asked her to do a guest post for us. We love Karolyn's style! You can see more of her fabulous work on her blog, Paper Therapy! Here is a bit about Karolyn:

Hello!! I’m Karolyn Loncon and you can find me at my blog, Paper Therapy. I’ve been a paper crafter and stamper since 2002, former stamp designer, retired legal assistant, wife, mom and gramma! I currently design for Avery Elle Stamps and My Favorite Things, but have designed for some of the best stamp companies and challenge blogs in the business – I am blessed!! My crafting style is very clean and simple, with a little fun and cute thrown in for good measure – bright and cheery colors make me happy. Die cutting is my love language. Besides stamping, I love to laugh, shop, decorate, travel, spend time with my grandkids, and play BINGO – don’t judge!! LOL

Here are two cards that Karolyn made using Concord & 9th products:
What a creative use of our Painted Thank You stamp set! She used the long brushstroke to create the rainbow stripes. This card also features Being Classy stamp set  for the greeting and our Bags & Tags die to create the scallop edge on the front of her card. LOVE!

Karolyn used the Painted Thank You stamp set over the cute apple. The 'thank you' is GOLD FOILED! To see how she made this, visit her blog post dated Thursday, Sept 24th. Definitely a technique we will be trying!

A big thank you to Karolyn for making these inspiring cards!

Guest Designer: Kymona Tracey

We'd like to extend a warm welcome to Kymona Tracey! We stumbled upon one of Kymona's cards and fell in love with her style, so we invited her to do a guest blog post with us. You can see her amazing work on her blog KREATIVE KYMONA. Here is a little bit about Kymona:

Who am I, you ask? I am a woman who never slows down and loves it. Yes…I am the energizer bunny’s sister! I am a single mother of two wonderful children who are 8 years apart. My 17 year old son is a true self-made jock who plays every sport you can think of! My 9 year old daughter is a real life princess who loves anything crafty and girly and absolutely hates anything related to sports. Talk about yin and yang! …but I love it!! Besides running from one activity to another with them, I work full time at a hospital (public health background), facilitate a reading group at work, teach high school students on the weekends and have a huge love of learning new things. I’ve taken classes in photography, web design, knitting, scrapbooking and card-making.
I started card-making in 2004. My favorite technique is watercoloring and my style is clean and simple.  Oxymoron, I know. I found Concord & 9th on Instagram while searching for new people to follow. I saw a watercolor piece and I was hooked. I had to check out the website. The stamp sets were amazing. Then I read about the idea behind the name and fell further in love.

For this post Kymona created three cute cards used our new Map Love stamp set. 1 stamp set. 3 cards. 3 very different looks. We love that Kymona was able to show versatility within one stamp set! Head on over to Kymona's blog for a special discount code offered on Concord & 9th purchases through September 30th!

Wedding Day

My daughter and I attended a wedding reception for her (our) dear friend Sydney last night. The bride was stunning and the reception was gorgeous. I knew it would be so I had to present their gift card in a pretty package. Our NEW Modern Edition Paper Route made for the perfect envelope, Washes Edition made a perfect flower and the NEW Map Love stamp set had just the right sentiment that I gold embossed for their special day!

Where's the gift card you ask? Stay tuned for an upcoming video on our NEW Bags & Tags die where I show you the gift card trick....it's to die for!

Make a wish!

This past weekend we gathered as a family to celebrate my cousin Sydney's 4th birthday. It was so exciting to use our new product to wrap up her {crafting} goodies! One sheet of the Cake Edition Paper Route™ wrapped all 3 gifts and the tag was super simple. I used the Eat Cake & Celebrate stamp set, stamping 4 of the 5 candles (because she turned 4) and quickly colored them in with markers. Done in a snap.
Happy Birthday Syd!
Love, Angie

What's in a NAME?

Many people have asked what "Concord & 9th" means. It's simple really. It's a hybrid of our crossroads. Greg lives on Concord and Angie lives off 9th. This business came together as we crossed paths and our ideas intersected. We love the idea of creativity coming together, not only for us, but also with all of you! All the fun meaning aside, it also just sounds like a fun place to visit! As we continue down this road, we look forward to seeing who else will cross paths with us at Concord & 9th.
