This will be our 3rd time sponsoring CASology! If you are not sure what that is, hop on over to their blog to find out. It's a fun 'challenge' with a new keyword each Tuesday. You then create a CAS (clean & simple) card to go along with the keyword. The design team shows their inspiring cards, along with the keyword, to get you started. It's so fun to see what everyone comes up with. You should join the fun!
We are excited to introduce another guest designer for December, Yoonsun Hur! She runs a blog over at Rejoicing Crafts that you need to check out. We saw her Instagram right when we started as a company and were hooked on her clean and colorful style.
Here is a little bit about Yoonsun:
Hello Everyone! I’m Yoonsun Hur a South Korean-born Australian and I currently live in Sydney with my gorgeous husband. I am still learning and enjoying true Australian culture.
I love being creative!! I really love making cards with various and awesome stuff such as stamps, inks, die cuts, paper punches and many more. I have been working as a Graphic designer since 2000 and this career has helped me in many ways when designing cards. I endlessly want to make various attempts and share my creativity with you.
Keep smiling and be blessed! God bless you all!
For Written in the Stars, Yoonsun created this gorgeous piece. The painted ombré sky against the embossed clouds makes for the perfect backdrop for this sweet sentiment.
If you are not yet following Yoonsun, go to her blog now! From there you can follow her other social media outlets. THANK YOU SO MUCH Yoonsun for sharing your talent with us at Concord & 9th!
Greg stepped out of his comfort zone today and filmed his first full length video!! It highlights our new Tree Hugs stamp set! Greg goes over the in's & out's of this set - why it was designed, how to use it, cool techniques and a great accordion card at the end. Watch the full length version here (below), under our VIDEOS link, by the Tree Hugs product or on our YouTube channel!
I think Greg did a great job! Show him the love!.....Watch. Comment. Share!
It's so fun to have guest designers. Not only do we get to share their talent with you, but we get to learn more about them too, and become friends! Teresa has a creative blog called Paperie Blooms. We tend to favor CAS, which Teresa does so well!
Here is a little about Teresa:
I am Teresa Kline; hardworking, highly motivated, loyal, and creative red headed gal from Virginia. I am married to my husband, Gary; we have been married almost ten years. I am a four legged boxer dog momma to Lexi and Annie. I have been creating cards for over ten years and I luv the process; from being inspired, to shopping, to organizing, and finally creating! I have had the privilege of being on many design teams over the years. I am highly honored to be a guest for the delightful Concord and 9th Company.....a truly amazing opportunity! I sincerely enjoy sending my cards and luv to encourage others with my work and inspiring words. I hope you look for me and my creations on social media. You can find me on my blog, Paperie Blooms; IG, 2klines; SCS,va.sunshine, and Postable.
Teresa created these two great cards with some of our December release products. The 'missing you' card is created with Written in the Stars. It's cool how she created the circle focal point and stamped the trees. It's also adorned with our 3mm gold sequins (which are now back in stock - yay!). The "love" card is created with Tree Hugs. The tag created with the birch tree elements is so clever/creative! It's a great alternative to woodgrain!
You should really follow Teresa to see all her creative goodies on her blog and follow her other social media outlets! We are so happy that Teresa designed for us this month - THANKS Teresa!
We are excited to introduce another guest designer, Jessica Frost-Ballas. She has a great blog called All the Sparkle where she features her creative projects! We love Jessica's style, especially her cards with cool techniques creating sky backgrounds.
Here is a little bit about Jessica:
Hi, I'm Jessica from all the sparkle and I'm so excited to be guest-designing for the December release for Concord and 9th! I live in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley with my husband, two dogs, a cat, and a rabbit. I’ve been crafting in one form or another since I was a child but have recently been able to devote more time (and space!) to card-making and I LOVE it! I am a freelance harpist and I spend most days teaching piano and harp to students of all ages. I enjoy the ever-changing nature of my day job but I really love my time spent crafting as it allows me to access and unleash a very different side of my creativity! I love experimenting with new techniques and I usually can’t resist adding just a little extra sparkle to all of my cards and projects!! At the moment my favorite cards to make are shakers or anything involving watercolors or distress inks! I generally tend towards cool colors although I can't resist pink and gold!
Jessica has made two cards for us, one using Tree Hugs and one using Written in the Stars.
We love the gold embossing and white ink on the Tree Hugs card. The Ruby sequins are so cute - which is probably why they are now sold out. You could recreate this card using Gold sequins though!
The missing you card showcases her unique 'sky' techniques, plus she made this in to a shaker! We didn't think about using the trees and telephone poles together - very clever!
If you are not yet following Jessica, go to her blog now! From there you can follow her other social media outlets. THANK YOU SO MUCH Jessica for sharing your talent with us at Concord & 9th!
We are lucky enough to be sponsoring another week over on CASology! Click over to see how you can play along. Below is this weeks cue word and Angie's attempt at creating an OWL out of stamp sets we currently carry (none of which include an owl). Challenge accepted! Angie used our Pop Art Pineapple stamps and dies to create this little fella. The wings are the pineapple body cut in two, the feet and beak are the flowers, and the dip on his head is just an edge of the pineapple body die. Oh, the eyes are from our Bags & Tags dies - they are the little circle tag reinforcer. Perfectly sized for big owl eyes!
This card would be good to welcome a new little baby or even a new neighbor. Would you like to have a chance at winning the Pop Art Pineapple stamp set? Head over to CASology to play along!
We just love to find talented crafters via social media! Today's guest post is from Amy Kolling. Her blog is called Stamp-n-Paradise. You need to check it out! Here are some fun facts about Amy:
Hello! My name is Amy Kolling. I live in Kansas with my 2 kids and husband. Beside my crafty resume, I work full time as a Dialysis RN at one of the largest clinics within the company. I started scrapbooking nearly 20 years ago with layouts using my wedding photos. Once I found stamping (via a Stampin' Up friend), I became a die-hard cardmaker . . . there was just something about all the matchy ink and papers that had me hook, line, and sinker! I would not be where I am today without the amazing stamping community of friends that have encouraged me from the very beginning. I am a CAS, with a few layers, kind of stamper but like to try all sorts of techniques that may or may not take me out of my comfort zone.
We love Amy's fresh, clean style so we asked her to create cards using our new Shine Brighter stamp set and Shine Brighter dies. Amy did a great job of incorporating other Concord & 9th products too. The 'MERRY and BRIGHT' card base is using our Happy Hues card pack (she trimmed down one card to use as a panel rather than the full card base - clever!) and the Ocean 3mm sequins. The 'it's your day to SHINE' card uses our Tree Ring stamp as a backdrop. SO PRETTY!
A huge THANK YOU from us to Amy for creating such fun cards, and guest posting for us! Be sure to link to her blog HERE so that you can find out about a special give-away, awe at her creations and follow her on all her social media outlets!
Are you following Joan of Dear Paperlicious? If not, you should be! Not only is she very talented at stamping and papercrafting, but she has a great blog and is very kind! She was one of our first customers and followers, and then she asked to interview us as a new company as part of a monthly blog series she is doing. We were honored!
Joan asked great questions and posted Concord & 9th product photos & samples. Check it out HERE if you want to know more about us, but more importantly, start following Joan's blog Dear Paperlicious where you can also find all of her other social media outlets! She is SO inspiring!!!
