Welcome Taheerah!

Please help us welcome Taheerah Atchia! We were lucky enough to meet Taheerah in person at CHA/Creativation in January. She is adorable - and so are all her shoes!! She agreed to guest design with us then, so she will be using our March new release products.

Here is a little more about Taheerah in her own words:

Hi! I’m Taheerah. I’m a geek. And I like to make stuff.

I live in the UK with my wonderful cats, and I work in IT, building and testing software. I’m a scientist at heart (I have a degree in Astrophysics), but I’ve always also been creative. I like to balance all the technical, thinking work I do in my day job with doing something with my hands, which is where crafting comes in! I love combining designs/products in think-outside-the-box ways, as well as mixing it up with a varied style and capitalising on the latest trends. I'd love it if you stopped by my site and learned more about me!

Today Taheerah is sharing projects she has made using our Lucky Bundle. How fabulous is it that she made it look like a neon sign?!?

And, how cool is this photo backdrop she has put it on? It feels so nostalgic!

Pretty sure we all need to hop over to Taheera's blog right now to find out how she did this! Follow me there...Taheerah Atchia - Designer. Blogger. Geek.

Taheerah will be back with us more this month so keep an eye out! Be sure to follow her blog, Taheerah Atchia - Designer. Blogger. Geek, and her fun Instagram feed @taheerah_atchia.

Welcome Dedra!

SPECIAL FEATURE BY Dedra Long!

Please help us welcome Dedra Long as a talented faith-crafting friend! Today she is showcasing a bible page layout she has made using our Faith & Love Bundle. First, here is more about Dedra:

Hi there, my name is Dedra Long and I live in Gilbert, Arizona with my husband and two daughters. I started traditional scrapbooking in 1996 after the birth of our first daughter. Since then I have been on many design teams, had my worked published many times and have met some of the most AMAZING people which have become friends.

The last couple of years I have been “creatively planning,” (I have had a traditional planner since high school). Now, I like to make my planners not only be functional but beautiful and stylish as well.
About a year ago I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer (my third type of cancer since the age of 26). This last year has been a journey, filled with ups and downs, medications, fear and all of the emotions in between. Needless to say, I started to dig deeper in my relationship with God. Illustrated Faith inspired me to start the creative journey in my journaling bible.
I have realized it doesn’t matter if you are a scrapbooker, a planner girl, a journaling bible fanatic, a card maker, pocket page lover and everything in between, you can use all of the same supplies across each creative platform. I will use stamp sets and supplies in my faith planner, then in my journaling bible and beyond.
Wishing you health and happiness friends!!
XOXOXO
D.

Dedra has not only used our Faith & Love stamp set, but paired it with our Flourish stamp set and our All Year Long stamp set. This layout is fabulous! It just goes to show that you can use any kind of stamp in your bible journaling!

Dedra will be back with us more this month! In the meantime, be sure to follow her blog, Dedra Long Designs, and her beautiful Instagram @dedralong for lots of bible art journaling and planner inspiration!

Welcome Lindsey!

SPECIAL FEATURE BY Lindsey Lanning!

Please help us welcome Lindsey Lanning as a talented faith-crafting friend! Today she is showcasing a bible page layout she has made using our Faith & Love Bundle. First, here is more about Lindsey:

Hello Everyone! My name is Lindsey and I'm the wife to Dave for 10 years, the mom to identical twin boys who are 9, the owner/creator of an Etsy shop and a YouTuber in training. I've loved crafting for as long as I can remember and that's due to my grandmother. She was always toll painting, sewing, cake decorating and creating special holiday crafts. From a very young age she would include me in whatever project she was working on and because of that I was introduced to a wide variety of products, crafting TV shows, and all sorts of craft supply stores.

It wasn't until later on in my life that I really started pursuing my crafting as a full time hobby and job. I started out by creating jewelry and selling it to my coworkers and then once I quit my full time job, I decided to start up Lindsey Decor on Etsy where I create painted wood signs and jewelry dishes.

In August of 2015 I discovered the amazing world of Bible Art Journaling and this completely changed my life. As a Christian wife and mom, I struggled with finding the time and motivation to study in my Bible but journaling changed that for me. I found myself constantly watching YouTube tutorials and reviews and decided to pair my love of photography and crafting to start up my own channel. Last year I also taught at several workshops, sharing my love of Bible Journaling with other women and getting them inspired to connect with God in the pages of their Bibles in a new and exciting way.

Thanks to some amazing opportunities and a growing YouTube channel, I am now able to stay at home with my boys and create some income to fund my ever growing obsession with craft supplies and Bible Art Journaling!

Below is the beautiful layout Lindsey has created for us. And, she even created a YouTube video showing how this came about! Be sure to watch her video, and prepare to be inspired!!

Stay tuned as Lindsey will be back with us later this month with a layout that includes die cuts too! Be sure to subscribe to Lindsey's YouTube channel by clicking HERE, and follow her on Instagram too @lindseydecor413

Welcome Kelly!

Help us welcome Kelly Griglione as guest designer with us for March! We had the pleasure of meeting Kelly at CHA/Creativation in January, and she is so sweet! It was there that she agreed to guest for us using our March new release products!

Here’s a little more about Kelly in her own words:

Hi! I'm Kelly, and like many of us, crafting has always been a large part of my life. I have such fond memories of time spent with my Grandma at her kitchen table learning every type of craft imaginable. What a great legacy to leave … I think of Gram every time I sit down to craft!

Now I’m mom to two boys ages 9 and 12, and wife to my high school sweetheart. The end of this year will be the 30th anniversary of our first date. I have no idea how that is even possible!

While my husband is a very sweet cheerleader of my crafting projects, he never got terribly excited over the results, products, process, etc. That was really my motivation to start a blog. I wanted to share ideas with a group of like-minded people. Initially I thought I’d be posting home décor projects, party themes, decorating ideas, etc. Hence, my blog name “Notable Nest.” That didn’t last long, as I started entering card-making challenges, and immediately got sucked in to this amazing community. What a wonderful ride it’s been!

Today Kelly is showing us how LUCKY we are to get to see her fun creations! She is using our new Lucky Bundle, along with other new products - can you guess what they are?

We love how Kelly die cut the thin-line ‘lucky’ along her patterned paper, and again with a black card stock, to align along the bottom of her card!

In this next card, Kelly went all out! Not only did she use the Lucky Bundle, which is our Lucky stamp set and Lucky dies, but she’s figured out how to incorporate our Double-Cut Alphabet dies, and even our You Are Here stamp set! All that fun in one card - and done SO well!

We love that she did a star garland! The stars are part of the Lucky dies! And those glittery letters - ahhhhh!

Aren’t these cards great? Lucky for us, Kelly will be back a few more times with us this month showing more of her talent with more of our March release products. Can’t wait! Be sure to keep an eye out for more from Kelly! In the meantime, visit her blog Notable Nest, for more details on these projects! Then, follow her on Instagram @notablenest!

Welcome Ilina!

Today we are kicking off a new month of guest designers, and we are starting with Ilina Crouse! She will be showcasing products from our March new release with us many times over the next month!

Here is a little more about Ilina in her own words:

My name is Ilina Crouse. By day I work as Electrical Engineer/Bid Manager. I moved to the USA from a small European country (Macedonia) 13 years ago. I have been married for 12 years and have 3 most craziest kids, Anna (5), Milena (3) and Jason (2). By night (when the kids are sleeping) I am a card maker. I am addicted to color and coloring. I have been stamping since very young age(8), when my parents brought me a stamp set while on one of their business trips (while I still lived in Macedonia), since then I fell in love with paper crafting and card making. I started blogging in 2007 for a way to share my creations with my friends and family back home. Besides stamping and card making, I love running, especially distance running. My life is crazy and there is nothing simple, so I try to keep my crafting style clean and simple. You will see a lot of white space on my cards and only one or two layers.

For today’s post, Ilina has used our new Fill-In Phrases Bundle! It’s a bundle of 3 new products - Fill-In Phrases stamp set, Floral Fill-In stencils and Floral Fill-in patterned paper. Two of these products are a new line to us...stencils & paper! We’ve had such fun with these new products, and clearly Ilina did too because what she has created is beautiful!

We love her color choices in this first card - and that she embossed the sentiment in black so it really pops off the card!

In this second card she has embossed again, but swapped out colors and chose a different sheet of the patterned paper. Quick & easy!

As a bonus project, Ilina has used the stencil to create flowers on the front of her card without the designed paper. She then used the stem/leaf images in the Fill-In Phrases stamp set to finish the large flowers, and paired it with our new Faith & Love stamp set for the sentiment!

To see more details on these great cards and watch 3 great videos of Ilina making the cards, hop over to her blog, Creativity Within. Be sure to follow Ilina there, and on her Instagram account @ilinacrouse. She shares fun, crafty goodness that you’ll want to see! Remember, Ilina will be back with us several times this month, so keep an eye out!

Butterflies by Tasha!

Tasha is back with us today! This time she is sharing two stunning cards made with our Butterfly Beauty Bundle! If you missed Tasha's introduction post where she made two cards using our Say Hello Bundle, click HERE. For her second post with us, she created a festive birthday card using our Party Wishes Bundle. Click HERE to see that fun post!

Now on to today's cards...
This first card is full of great techniques! Smooshing, gold watercolors, micro bead shaker, etc! We love how the white detailed butterfly really pops off the card front! The sentiment Tasha used for this card is very fitting!

For Tasha's second card she not only used the butterfly images with ink, but added in colored pencils for extra details! We love the black & white with the strong hot pink!

Aren't these amazing?
For all the crafty details, hop over to Tasha's blog, My Scrap Corner of Joy, and be sure to follow her on Instagram @tashavovchuk to follow her inspiring feed!

We have really enjoyed having Tasha as a guest designer this month!
THANK YOU TASHA!!

ETC Papers + C9 = Wood Embellishments!

Welcome to Friday! Today we've done a fun collaboration with ETC Papers! They have a variety of paper crafting products. Our favorite is their wood veneer sheets and Birch Wood Tape

We wanted to use one of our detailed dies along with the wood veneer sheets to create a wood element for our card. Here is the final result. Scroll down to see step by step instructions...

Step one:
Start with our Butterfly Card dies and a dark brown card stock. We are using the Cherry Wood sheet too.

Step two:
Line up both the left and right wings of the butterfly dies on to your card stock. Run it through your Big Shot, or other die cutting machine.

Step three:
Die cut three butterflies from the brown cardstock. Clip the top and bottom from the die cut pieces down to the butterfly body shape. Do the same with the wood sheet butterfly. Lay the detailed wings over the top of the solid butterfly wings and send it through your Big Shot again. Be sure to die cut the butterfly body in brown and wood sheet too.

Step four:
Stack your 3 brown butterflies and adhere them together using a detailed glue pen. Peel the adhesive backing off the back of the wood sheet butterfly - YES, these sheets have adhesive backing! Adhere it to the top of the brown butterfly stack.
Why did we do this part? We wanted the wood butterfly to look thick, like an actual woodcut embellishment!

The nice thing about the paper wood embellishment is that it is still flexible, because it's paper. This allows you to use a bone folder to curl the wings, giving the butterfly life!

Step five:
Use our Butterfly Beauty stamp set to stamp 'thank you' on the front of your love note sized card repeatedly, using the stamp-off technique. Adhere your butterfly on the card front. With the wings slightly curled, it helps the butterfly pop off the card front.

Step six:
Create a matching envelope! We used our Love Notes Envelope dies to create the envelope. This size is perfect for quick notes, and even holds gift cards! To see how this envelope is made, watch our VIDEO. Next, stamp little butterflies on the envelope from the Butterfly Beauty stamp set so it coordinates with the card. We wanted to add the bit of wood texture to the envelope too. Using the Birch Wood Tape was perfect! The tag die fit so well on the tape - much less wasteful to use this tape for small die cuts rather than using a full 8 1/2 x 11 sheet for scraps!

Step seven:
Stamp another butterfly right on the birch tape! YES - you can stamp on the Wood Sheets and the Birch Wood Tape!

This was a really fun project to work on! Be sure to visit ETC Papers Blog to see projects they made using Concord & 9th products! While you are there, do some shopping, and be sure to follow their fun Instagram feed too @etc.papers!

"The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge" Blog Hop

***Giveaway closed...Congratulations to Terri Armstrong, Jennifer Mitten & Karla Jaimes! Thank you to everyone who commented and played along...we will see you next time!***

Welcome to "The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge" Blog Hop. Kathy Racoosin from The Daily Marker wants to share her love of coloring with you. Today Kathy has assembled a blog hop to give your creativity a jump start with some of her favorite stamp companies & Online Card Class partners.

The premise of “The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge” is to color something everyday even if it’s for five minutes. (However feel free to  jump in or out as time permits). Any coloring medium is welcomed. Click here to find out where to share what you are coloring and join the encouraging community of happy colorists PLUS answers to other questions you may have.

To start at the beginning of the hop go to The Daily Marker.  If you are coming from the blog of Mama Elephant you are in the right place. Kathy has the full blog hop list if you encounter a broken link.
We thought today would be a perfect time to sneak something NEW! We have a new stamp set coming on Thurs, 3/9 at 9am MST called You Are Here. It offers a very fine-line floral piece in a heart shape that can be colored with your favorite coloring technique. The sentiments are nice and bold to stamp over the floral image, and you can build your own sentiments such as "always in my heart" or "dear friend you are a rare find" or "you are here always & forever".
For today's coloring challenge, we wanted to use Altenew's Artist Markers! Here are a few things we LOVE about these markers:
1) They come in a set of 12, in their own little storage case.
2) The set included light, medium & dark shades of various colors making it easy to get a beautiful blend. It was so easy to know which colors to use together!
3) These are perfect for beginner to expert level colorists because they come in a user-friendly assortment. These are perfect for florals!

Let's get started on how we created our card today!
Step one:
Stamp your heart image using Memento ink, or your favorite ink that works with alcohol based markers.
Step two:
Start coloring the floral image with your Altenew Artist Markers, or color medium of your choice. When coloring this, we started with a layer of the lightest shade and built the shadows up from there.
Step three:
Color in the leaves with the same coloring pattern as the flower, but using your shades of green.

Step four:
Put your finished card front in your Mini Misti from My Sweet Petunia. Select the sentiments you want to use. Ink up your sentiments with Versafine Onyx black ink, or your favorite black ink. Stamp repeatedly over top of your colored image until you have nice, crisp words.
Finishing touches:
We added our card front to a dark cardstock base with mounting foam, and tied a little strand of white twine along the side. It just wasn't enough, so we added our favorite accessories, clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh.
And, finally - here is our finished card...clean & simple, yet so elegant!
Here are a few close-ups so you can see the details...
Like what you see? We'd love for you to PIN & share!
Who would like to own this stamp set? THREE lucky winners will each receive their own You Are Here stamp set! How can you win? Tell us which of your favorite coloring techniques and products you will use to color in this image! Be sure to leave your email in the comment too so that we can contact the winners! Winners will be selected by random draw. We will select the winners by March 8th before it is released in our shop on March 9th!

GIVEAWAYS: During  the hop you will find lots of giveaways along the way.  The full list of ALL winners from the individual blogs will be announced on The Daily Marker blog Sunday March 12th.

Kathy from The Daily Marker is the creator of  “The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge”.The Challenge is a great way to gain confidence with your coloring and join in a community of positivity and coloring enthusiasts. The challenge is also a great way to get full use of your stamps and coloring mediums.

(When sharing use #TheDailyMarker30Day so Kathy can find your work)

THE GOAL IS:  To color something daily even if it's a few minutes but, certainly not required. It’s  been proven that coloring can lower your blood pressure & make you feel happy and relaxed so it’s worth carving out a little time for yourself each day. You will find that Kathy encourages you along the way to stretch your creativity a little bit more and to feel successful with your coloring.

CAN YOU PARTICIPATE in the 30 DAY CHALLENGE?  Yes! that would be awesome if you want to participate & feel free to jump in at any time during the challenge! Everyone is welcome! If you miss a few days don’t feel like you have to catch up. The challenge is meant to be fun and with no stress.

QUESTIONS? Read more on Kathy’s blog post here to see how to share you work and if you have questions, how to share, giveaways etc. Prepare to be inspired with daily posts and many videos for 30 days.

The next person on the hop is Waffle Flower!
