We have another guest designer post today - this time it is from May Park @mayholicdesign! We have followed May on Instagram for some time now. We admire her talent, and creativity! We just had to ask her to be a guest designer for us!
Here is a little more about May in her own words:
Hello! My name is May Sukyong Park. I was born and raised in South Korea. I’ve been happily married to the most wonderful husband for ten years, and we moved to the beautiful Southern California in 2009. I had not enjoyed any arts and crafts until my Japanese friend showed me her amazing scrapbook album in May2010. I honestly didn’t know there was a paper-crafting world before. A month later, I made my first scrapbook page when I went to the Crop Night at Michael’s. Then I started scrapbooking with the encouragement of my hubby and slowly moved intomaking cards. Sometimes I’m surprised to see myself who is passionate about paper crafting. Because I had never thought of myself related to creativity back in South Korea. I'm absolutely thankful for being part of this creative, amazing paper-crafting
The project May created uses our new Holy Night Bundle, and a surprise stamp image appearance from our Lace Leaf stamp set. I would have never thought to put the two together, but what May has done is beautiful!
She has used a few different techniques with this card: masking with dies, multi-color stamping, and layering dies. When I first saw this card, I thought May had watercolored behind the die cut piece. As I studied the card more, I realized she used the large watercolor wash from Lace Leaf over a mask of the Mary holding Baby Jesus die cut.
WOWZA! Am I right? For more details on how May created this stunning card, please visit her blog at Mayholic Design. Be sure to follow her on Instagram too @mayholicdesign! More to come from May later this month!
