"The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge" Blog Hop

***Giveaway closed...Congratulations to Terri Armstrong, Jennifer Mitten & Karla Jaimes! Thank you to everyone who commented and played along...we will see you next time!***

Welcome to "The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge" Blog Hop. Kathy Racoosin from The Daily Marker wants to share her love of coloring with you. Today Kathy has assembled a blog hop to give your creativity a jump start with some of her favorite stamp companies & Online Card Class partners.

The premise of “The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge” is to color something everyday even if it’s for five minutes. (However feel free to  jump in or out as time permits). Any coloring medium is welcomed. Click here to find out where to share what you are coloring and join the encouraging community of happy colorists PLUS answers to other questions you may have.

To start at the beginning of the hop go to The Daily Marker.  If you are coming from the blog of Mama Elephant you are in the right place. Kathy has the full blog hop list if you encounter a broken link.
We thought today would be a perfect time to sneak something NEW! We have a new stamp set coming on Thurs, 3/9 at 9am MST called You Are Here. It offers a very fine-line floral piece in a heart shape that can be colored with your favorite coloring technique. The sentiments are nice and bold to stamp over the floral image, and you can build your own sentiments such as "always in my heart" or "dear friend you are a rare find" or "you are here always & forever".
For today's coloring challenge, we wanted to use Altenew's Artist Markers! Here are a few things we LOVE about these markers:
1) They come in a set of 12, in their own little storage case.
2) The set included light, medium & dark shades of various colors making it easy to get a beautiful blend. It was so easy to know which colors to use together!
3) These are perfect for beginner to expert level colorists because they come in a user-friendly assortment. These are perfect for florals!

Let's get started on how we created our card today!
Step one:
Stamp your heart image using Memento ink, or your favorite ink that works with alcohol based markers.
Step two:
Start coloring the floral image with your Altenew Artist Markers, or color medium of your choice. When coloring this, we started with a layer of the lightest shade and built the shadows up from there.
Step three:
Color in the leaves with the same coloring pattern as the flower, but using your shades of green.

Step four:
Put your finished card front in your Mini Misti from My Sweet Petunia. Select the sentiments you want to use. Ink up your sentiments with Versafine Onyx black ink, or your favorite black ink. Stamp repeatedly over top of your colored image until you have nice, crisp words.
Finishing touches:
We added our card front to a dark cardstock base with mounting foam, and tied a little strand of white twine along the side. It just wasn't enough, so we added our favorite accessories, clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh.
And, finally - here is our finished card...clean & simple, yet so elegant!
Here are a few close-ups so you can see the details...
Like what you see? We'd love for you to PIN & share!
Who would like to own this stamp set? THREE lucky winners will each receive their own You Are Here stamp set! How can you win? Tell us which of your favorite coloring techniques and products you will use to color in this image! Be sure to leave your email in the comment too so that we can contact the winners! Winners will be selected by random draw. We will select the winners by March 8th before it is released in our shop on March 9th!

GIVEAWAYS: During  the hop you will find lots of giveaways along the way.  The full list of ALL winners from the individual blogs will be announced on The Daily Marker blog Sunday March 12th.

Kathy from The Daily Marker is the creator of  “The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge”.The Challenge is a great way to gain confidence with your coloring and join in a community of positivity and coloring enthusiasts. The challenge is also a great way to get full use of your stamps and coloring mediums.

(When sharing use #TheDailyMarker30Day so Kathy can find your work)

THE GOAL IS:  To color something daily even if it's a few minutes but, certainly not required. It’s  been proven that coloring can lower your blood pressure & make you feel happy and relaxed so it’s worth carving out a little time for yourself each day. You will find that Kathy encourages you along the way to stretch your creativity a little bit more and to feel successful with your coloring.

CAN YOU PARTICIPATE in the 30 DAY CHALLENGE?  Yes! that would be awesome if you want to participate & feel free to jump in at any time during the challenge! Everyone is welcome! If you miss a few days don’t feel like you have to catch up. The challenge is meant to be fun and with no stress.

QUESTIONS? Read more on Kathy’s blog post here to see how to share you work and if you have questions, how to share, giveaways etc. Prepare to be inspired with daily posts and many videos for 30 days.

The next person on the hop is Waffle Flower!
