First of all, we were so excited to be invited to participate in such a fun event, 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist, by Ellen Hutson!
Second, I LOVE this color combo! Our assignment was to use this color combo as our inspiration. It says winter, and Christmas, all wrapped up in one! I may have even been inspired by the darling tree in the photo too...see if you can tell...
For my tag, I decided to use our JOY Bundle which is our JOY stamp set and JOY die sold together at a discounted price! These two products were designed for holiday cards and tags, but it also extends past the holidays with a sentiment like "you bring me JOY". Afterall, JOY can, and should, be shared year-round, right?!?
I also added in our Bags & Tags dies to help with the actual tag design. I used the rounded tag top, and rounded tag bottom die pieces on the light gray card stock. I also had to add a little tag to the big tag just so that I could include the little holly berry images from the JOY stamp set.
This close-up shot of the tag shows the clear embossing around the diecut JOY. To achieve that look, first stamp the bold JOY image in Versamark on to light blue card stock. Heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Next, lay the JOY die on top of the bold, embossed JOY. Run it through your Big Shot, or other die cutting machine. The bold JOY image is larger than the JOY die on purpose. We like how it leaves a border OUTSIDE of the die cut, rather than the typical slight border on the inside of the die cut piece. I did pop-up the die cut JOY off the tag for dimension with foam tape. I also added in a little glitter paper on the round reinforcer from Bags & Tags, as well as a strip at the end of the tag to tie it all together, especially with the shimmery ribbon.
We sure hope you experience much JOY this holiday season!
